What happens during a breathwork session?
In our first session, after filling out the questionnaire I will begin to understand how to bring awareness and structure into your life through breathwork. I will hold space to discuss what is important for you so we can work on breathwork techniques that will add value to your life.
How can breathwork help you?
The basic premise of breathwork is to release toxins and stress when you breathe out and to nourish your mind and body when you breathe in. Breathwork is supportive for stress, anxiety, depression, fear, grief, sadness, trauma and insomnia. The techniques can help us work through and process our emotions in a healthy way. It can also aid us to build upon our self-love, and gratitude, help us gain clarity of thoughts and aid us in developing a deeper connection to the self.
What breathwork techniques will I learn?
There are many different breathwork techniques, and each has unique benefits. We will start with belly breathing (diaphragmatic breathing), before moving through to other breathwork exercises depending on your individual needs and goals.
What is breathwork?
Breathwork can be described as a group of exercises that focus on breathing and is much like an active form of meditation which allows us to disconnect from the mind and be guided by the body. Through breathwork practice, we are consciously working the breath to bypass the mind to allow us to enter into a different state of awareness.
What types of yoga do you offer?
I offer gentle hatha yoga practise and yoga nidra.
What is Hatha Yoga?
Sanskrit for Yoga means ‘force’. Although Hatha Yoga is an umbrella term, Hatha places emphasis on breathing and posture and is slower paced with a focus on alignment and holding each pose, compared to faster-flowing movements such as Vinyasa. You can expect gentle classes which strongly focus on body alignment for you to reap the benefits of holding these postures.
What Nidra Yoga?
Yoga Nidra is a form of guided meditation also known as ‘yogic sleep’ or ‘effortless relaxation’ that draws the attention inwards allowing the practicer to enter deep states of conscious relaxation. Here at Flair Life, I offer a safe, calming place that is your personal sanctuary where we will embark on a journey of finding a more harmonious, restful state of being.
