Women’s Health

Menstruation is a natural process for girls and women that they need to feel empowered feeling about, however, this area of health can often get glossed over. Talking about menstruation is a key part of female wellbeing, as this allows for increased learning and can help to develop healthy, body-positive attitudes to menstruation. The female body is one to be truly celebrated and appreciated for the wonders it does throughout its monthly cycles.    However, menstruation can cause many issues for women across the month particularly if they experience PMS symptoms causing a variety of tough symptoms such as fatigue, low mood, irritability and even depression. For some women, menstruation itself is the issue causing extremely painful periods which can massively impact day to day life.    Through my health coaching services, I can help you to re-establish healthy menstruation. I will work by taking a deep dive into your lifestyle, diet, activity, environment chronobiology and how your body reacts to stress, in order to create a ritual of a physical and spiritual connection.    Click here to book in your complimentary health session with me.

Inflammation and Pain

Simply put, inflammation refers to the body reacting to something it recognises as foreign or from an injury that it’s sustained. Inflammation is often a crucial part of the healing process, but if inflammation becomes chronic (lasting for an extended period), it makes us more susceptible to illness or disease. When not managed properly, it can hugely reduce the quality of life and leave us thinking about what it feels like to not be in pain.    Through working with me through my health coaching services, I can offer you practical, actionable guidance helping you to implement habits into your routine that can help you manage inflammation and pain.    Taking a holistic overview, through my evaluative assessments and deep listening techniques, I will help guide you toward a healthier, more fulfilling life!    Click here to book your complimentary health session with me.

Stress

There are two types of stress, bad stress or ‘distress’ which is what we most commonly mean when we refer to ‘stress’ and good, beneficial stress, known as ‘eustress’.    While most of us talk about that negative feeling of ‘stress’ the main alarm is the rise of cortisol and epinephrine (adrenaline). While we’re all running around in panic mode from our everyday worries, chronic stress is disrupting the natural balance required for optimal health, speeding up the ageing process, and increasing the body’s susceptibility to illness. Finding ways to activate the relaxation response is vital.   Through my health coaching services, I can help you manage stress effectively and lead a calmer life. We will explore your daily habits that could be keeping you stuck in the stress cycle, helping you to change your perspective, thoughts and behaviours surrounding stress. We will work on building and maintaining a more positive thought pattern, routine and lifestyle that allows you to live a more stress-free life.    Visit my health coaching page to learn more about the health coaching services I offer.

Better Sleep

Constantly feeling run-down, struggling to focus, or feeling irritable for no particular reason? You may need to take a look at your sleeping patterns! While many of us aim to get the golden 8 hours of sleep a night, it often doesn’t happen. Stressful working days, not being able to switch off, too much blue light or caffeine intake can often be amongst the many factors that contribute to this we face in our hectic ‘always on’ lives. In fact, on average, three-quarters of people in the UK get less than 8 hours of sleep a night.    While it can be tempting to rely on caffeine or sugar to give us the much-needed boost to get through the days, every major organ in the body and brain process is optimally enhanced by sleep and detrimentally impaired when we don’t get enough. In fact, the more sleep-deprived you are, the more the body will tell you that you don’t need to sleep – this is a survival mechanism which also slows down your reaction time. Nothing can compensate for the wonders sleep does for us both physically and mentally! Getting a good night’s sleep is not always going to be something that happens overnight, but through my holistic approach via my health coaching services, we can take a look at which lifestyle factors are affecting your sleep amount and quality.  We first will take a deep dive into your lifestyle, habits and current sleep hygiene in order to make progressive steps towards a better night’s sleep. From there, I will help you implement simple but highly effective lifestyle changes, offering you tailored advice that fits around your routine. You will learn how to improve your sleep hygiene and create a structured sleeping pattern that allows you to get the best quality snooze possible! However, it will require commitment, dedication and constant practice from you.   Visit my health coaching page to learn more about the services I offer.

Gut Health

Did you know that nearly 70% of the immune system is located in your gut? This is why the bacteria present in the gut are vital to our health, well-being and mindset. Your gut is the foundation of everything – it aids digestion of the foods you eat, absorbs nutrients and uses it as fuel to maintain the body. This is why it’s paramount to look after our gut health and nurture it through meals and food that will allow it (and you!) to thrive.   The bacteria present in our gut serve a variety of functions, including breaking down food, metabolising drugs, detoxifying, helping the immune system mature, and regulating the immune system over time. Improving gut health helps support long-term health. Although bloating and gas is normal from time to time, if you frequently experience symptoms of gastrointestinal discomfort or reactions, your body is trying to send you a message. Listen to it!   By working with me through my health coaching services, I can support you in making better food choices so that we can figure out which foods support your gut function and which can trigger you. Through my expertise, I will provide you with a tailor-made nutritional plan that allows you to heal, nourish and nurture your gut allowing you to reap the benefits of this! Depending on your individual needs, we may experiment with removing inflammatory foods from your diet or introducing new staple foods to work into your diet. By working to support your gut health from a holistic approach, we will ensure these changes fit and are suitable for your lifestyle so that it is easy for you to maintain. Making the decision to heal your gut is a lifestyle choice, and is certainly no quick fix.
