Simply put, inflammation refers to the body reacting to something it recognises as foreign or from an injury that it’s sustained. Inflammation is often a crucial part of the healing process, but if inflammation becomes chronic (lasting for an extended period), it makes us more susceptible to illness or disease. When not managed properly, it can hugely reduce the quality of life and leave us thinking about what it feels like to not be in pain.
